Buttonwood Beach- Sanibel
Buttonwood beach parking access on Sanibel is one that is restricted to residents/taxpayers but anyone may bike ride or hike there and use the ramp depending on where you might be staying. Buttonwood beach access points are located about .5 miles from the lighthouse. There are 2 different access points, one to the gulf side, but another that gives access to the bay side of Sanibel. While parking is limited here to property owners a trip to the Bay side access by foot or bike can be well worth it. The Fishing here can really be great! Also there are often numerous bait fish swimming by if you are good with a cast net. The Gulf side access is a great location to try and hunt for the elusive miniature wentletrap seashells. Watch our video below and you can even catch a glimpse of a dolphin swimming by! A family of otter have their home near the bayside.
